OLEAN – Good Times of Olean will be the home this weekend to a production of an original piece from Bradford’s Enchante Cabaret.

Enchante boasts of six original shows, each with its own season, but this fall’s season – the Halloween season – is the time for the longest-running show, “Witches Brew.”

“The show is in its seventh season,” said John D. Attanasio, writer and co-creator of Enchante Cabaret.

“It is an original story that fuses popular music to tell the tale. … We hope to take the audience on an emotional ride with the cast and the storyline.”

In writing the piece, Attanasio, who calls Halloween his favorite holiday, said the show offers adults a chance for some good holiday entertainment.

“This is our attempt to help people get into the spirit of the time of the year,” he said.

“It’s really not an evil show with witchcraft and all, but it does have a witch in it.”

The story follows a witch who wants to create a brew that would make every day Halloween. She summons three lost souls to help her on her way.

The show will be performed 26 times this year, concluding with a performance in Toms River, N.J.

The cast includes residents of the Southern Tier and Pennsylvania. Since the start of the month, the cast has been on tour through Ohio and Pennsylvania, and will soon hit several points in New Jersey.

“Todd Wagner, our vocal lead, is from Bradford,” Attanasio said. “Then we have Sharon Backof, our witch, is from Allegany.”

Lauren Law, the musical director, is a Salamanca native.”

Performances at Good Times of Olean will be this Saturday and Sunday.

The $40 admission includes a 5:30 p.m. cocktail hour, a buffet dinner at 6:30, and the show at 8 p.m. “Witches Brew” is a two-hour show with an intermission.
