Soul-jazz saxophonist Will Holton’s annual “Night of Stars” event is 8 p.m. Saturday in the Tralf Music Hall (622 Main St.). As he’s been doing for several years now, Holton will turn the spotlight toward some homegrown Buffalo talent. He’ll also be honoring youth empowerment activists in the area.
In addition to Holton’s own performance, expect sets from the likes of soul/R&B vocalists Chauncey Northington and Kissena Frazier, and roots rockers Bruce Wojick & the Struggle. Holton will also present the 2013 “Reach Out & Lift Up Youth” awards to Buffalo Challenger publisher Alnisa Banks, dance instructor Barbara Glover, Juneteenth of Buffalo president Marcus Brown and former Buffalo Bill Jeff Nixon, all of whom have been involved in youth empowerment initiatives.
Tickets for Saturday’s show are $25 advance, $30 day of show (box office, Ticketmaster).
