The Common Council will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers and consider the promotion of 40 members of the Buffalo Fire Department.

The department’s chief of health and safety had warned that the delay in approving the promotions was affecting the safety of firefighters.

The Council will also consider bids for operation of the City Hall cafeteria.

Also this week:

• The Common Council will hold its premeeting caucus at 2 p.m. Monday in Room 1417 of City Hall.

• Members of the Zoning Board will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Room 901 of City Hall and will consider several projects, including a new office and hotel building at Delaware Avenue and Chippewa Street, and a new medical office building at 501 Seventh St. on the West Side.

• The Preservation Board will meet at 3 p.m. Thursday in Room 901 of City Hall.
