Two purses reported stolen Saturday afternoon were recovered soon after during a traffic stop on Delaware Avenue that led to a Buffalo woman’s arrest, according to a police report.
Buffalo police stopped a grey 2000 Jeep in the 2100 block of Delaware around 4:30 p.m. Saturday and observed the purses on the rear seat and floorboard areas of the vehicle, officials said.
Police arrested the vehicle’s front seat passenger, Angela K. McBride, 34, of Manhattan Avenue. McBride used stolen credit cards to make purchases at Marshall’s and Wegmans, police said.
Police also recovered two marijuana cigarettes and five small bags of marijuana from the vehicle’s center console and an unmarked prescription bottle containing the narcotic pain killer Vicodin, according to the report.
McBride faces multiple charges including felony grand larceny, felony criminal possession of stolen property, criminal mischief and misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance.
