A 56-year-old Tonawanda Street man was arrested on marijuana growing, weapons and dog fighting charges during a police raid on his home late Tuesday.
John Serra was charged with having a marijuana growing operation in his home in the second block of Tonawanda Street, having a shotgun and allegedly grooming seven dogs “for the purpose of dog fighting,” according to a police report. Police armed with a search warrant reported finding 24 marijuana plants in the house.
Serra was charged with felony counts of criminal possession of marijuana in the first-degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third-degree. He was also charged with an Agriculture and Markets Law criminal count of prohibition of animal fighting.
