Two Akron brothers in their early 20s and a passenger from Buffalo were arrested on drug and weapons charges by state troopers assigned to the Buffalo Strike Force after their car was stopped for non-use of seat belts on Fillmore Avenue near Broadway about 11:25 p.m. Monday.
The driver, Justin J. Blasko, 25, and his front seat passenger, his brother Benjamin R. Blasko, 22, were also found to be the subjects of pending Buffalo felony drug warrants. A pat down of the driver showed he was also illegally carrying a spring-loaded knife. Marijuana and pills and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle.
Justin Blasko was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and unlawful possession of marijuana. Both men were charged with possession of prescription medication outside its original container and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
Benjamin Blasko was also charged with criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second-degree. A back seat passenger, Chelsea D. Fanning, 22, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, criminal use of a hypodermic instrument, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third-degree and criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second-degree.
