Buffalo’s annual scholastic chess championship is set for June 14. The Main Place Mall at 390 Main St. in Buffalo will host the challenge, which includes sections for grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12.
Each participant will play five games with United States Chess Federation rules enforced. There is no elimination. All players must know “checkmate” and use “touch move.”
The event will take place on the mall’s upper level, beginning at 10:30 a.m., and all players must report by 10 a.m.
