Susan Conners was a middle school teacher for 33 years before she helped found the Tourette Syndrome Association of Greater New York State. The Snyder resident has been president of the organization since its origination in 1984.
The Museum of disABILITY History will welcome Conners for an informative presentation, “Tourette Syndrome – What makes us tic?” Friday from 7-9 p.m. at 3826 Main St. in Buffalo.
Conners’ speech will focus on many of the factors revolving around Tourette Syndrome, such as criteria for diagnosis and techniques for working with people who have been diagnosed.
Conners’ first book – The Tourette Syndrome and OCD Checklist: A Practical Reference for Parents and Educators – was recently published.
The event costs $5 for adults and $2.50 for seniors, students and human service employees. The price includes admission to the museum’s gallery space.
