Kaleida Health officials are set to announce Monday a new plan to redevelop the former Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital.
The announcement marks the second time a plan was unveiled for the large, high-profile property, which has been vacant since 2012 and sits on 10 acres in one of the city’s premier neighborhoods.
“We had three great proposals to choose from and we believe the vision that will be laid out on Monday will be a great victory for the Gates Circle community,” said Michael Hughes, vice president and chief marketing officer for Kaleida Health.
Kaleida received three proposals in September to develop the property on Gates Circle, after 59 firms had been solicited. Hughes said then that the three interested developers were local and “very well-respected.”
An earlier plan for a veterinary school on the site fell through.
