A neighbor of the last individual to be killed in Buffalo in 2013 has been charged with second-degree murder, police said today.

Pedro Cortijo-Rivera, 37, of the 200 block of Elmwood Avenue, was arrested in the stabbing death of Yousef Kabaln, 68, according to homicide detectives. Kabaln was found dead in his apartment Dec. 29.

Detectives are continuing their investigation into the slaying to determine a motive. Cortijo-Rivera lives in the same apartment building as the victim.
