An immigration rights advocate will speak at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the 33rd Annual Bissonette/Latin American Event held in Daemen College’s Wick Center.

Former Buffalo resident Crystal Massey, of the Southwest Asylum and Migration Institute, will share stories of immigrants’ struggles as they leave Mexico seeking better economic opportunities. She will be joined by Bianey Reyes, who fled Mexico after members of her family were killed for humanitarian work.

The event is co-sponsored by several organizations, including the Latin American Solidary Committee, the Bissonette Foundation, Pax Christi and the Interfaith Peace Network.
