State Sen. Mark Grisanti, R-Buffalo, has announced that he will co-sponsor a measure to waive the fee for the state’s new “veteran” driver’s licenses.

A new state law provides the special licenses for men and women who have served in the armed forces. There is no fee for them when they renew their licenses, but if they want a new license before the old one expires, there’s a $12.50 charge.
