A member of the city’s notorious 10th Street Gang has been sentenced by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara to 210 months in prison, U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced Monday.
Brandon Bobbitt, 25, of Buffalo, was convicted of Racketeering Influenced Corrupt Organization in connection with his gang involvement.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph M. Tripi said Bobbitt on Sept. 15, 2008 stole a car for 10th Street Gang members to use in a drive-by shooting of rival 7th Street Gang members. The car was used in a drive-by shooting that killed Omar Fraticello-Lugo and injured two other people and rival gang members, Hochul said. Bobbitt also sold cocaine and crack cocaine as part of his gang activities, Hochul said.
Bobbitt is among 38 members of 10th Street Gang to have been convicted as part of an investigation by the FBI’s Safe Streets Task Force.
