A 33-year-old Niagara Street man stopped when he turned onto Hawley Street from Forest Avenue about 11:30 p.m. Monday was arrested on felony weapons possession and vehicle infraction charges.

Joseph M. Cole was reportedly “very nervous and shaking” when police offices got him to pull over to the curb on Hawley, according to a police report. A .22-caliber rifle and a box of bullets were found in the car and after officers confirmed Cole was a paroled federal inmate he was charged with felony weapons possession.

He was also charged with having improper automobile equipment because his damaged turn signals led police to pull him over in the first place.
