An East Side man has pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree sexual conduct against a child.

Anthony Chapman, 48, of Schmarbeck Avenue, admitted sexually abusing two juveniles for nearly seven years, starting when both victims were 9 years old.

Chapman was convicted in 1997 of attempted first-degree sexual abuse involving an 11-year-old child. He was placed on five years’ probation. While on probation, he was convicted in 1999 of attempted failure to register as a sex offender and was allowed to continue on probation.

In 2008 he was convicted of three counts of failing to register as a sex offender and was sentenced to probation.

Chapman faces a minimum of 12 years in prison and a maximum of 30 years when he is sentenced Feb. 25 by Erie County Judge Kenneth F. Case, according to District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III.
