Beth Ann Gardner, 32, of 164 McKinley Parkway, was arrested following a complaint by Kohl’s department store, 2232 Delaware Ave., that at about 5 p.m. Saturday, Gardner tried to receive cash for merchandise she did not purchase.

Police pursued Gardner at a high rate of speed, and then she fled on foot, police said.

Garner then was subdued by police, and was in possession of a crack pipe, police said.

Gardner was arrested on several charges, including those related to: criminal trespass, burglary, fleeing a police officer, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a controlled substance, speeding, reckless driving, running a red light and unlicensed operation.
