A 41-year-old Buffalo woman was sentenced to a 30-month prison term Friday on her conviction for attempting to receive a package of cocaine shipped from the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Tracy D. Anderson was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Richard J. Arcara for attempting to possess with intent to distribute and distributing cocaine.
U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. said that on Aug. 8, 2012 Anderson took delivery of a package she thought contained cocaine she had ordered. But prior to its delivery, the cocaine had been seized by law enforcement officers and replaced with something of similar size, shape and weight.
After being arrested, Anderson admitted that she agreed to accept delivery of the package in exchange for $200.
