The Afro-American Historical Association of the Niagara Frontier will hold its 37th annual Family History Dinner and annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. May 2 in the Emerson School of Hospitality, 86 W. Chippewa St.

Family history presenter will be Sharon Jordan Holley, an association board member, storyteller, librarian and co-owner and operator of Zawadi Books.

The program also will include presentation of the William Wells Brown Award for the Preservation of African American History to Elaine Mootry, for her research on the five Jackson brothers who served in World War II; St. Luke AME Zion Church, which has given its papers to the association for preservation; and George Scott, president of the Colored Musicians Club.
