MAYVILLE – Melissa A. Kuhn, 24, of Seneca Street in Buffalo was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail here late Sunday after Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies struggled to handcuff her after she began fighting with them.

The deputies were called because she allegedly was having an altercation with a man in a car at Routes and 20 in the Town of Hanover.

She was charged with criminal mischief, harassment, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration about 9:15 p.m.

According to deputies, when they arrived at the car where the altercation was taking place, they separated Kuhn from the man with whom she had been arguing and then she began pushing a deputy even after she was told she was under arrest. The man in the car with Kuhn was cooperative with deputies.

Deputies said Kuhn tried to kick a deputy in the face, kicked two other deputies and damaged a patrol car by biting a seat and door panel. At her initial arraignment in Hanover Town Court, she was remanded to jail without bail.
