You knew Buffalo Bills fans would want to pay tribute to Ralph Wilson the best way they know how – with a memorial tailgate.

In fact, response to the event – arranged by #BillsMafia fan club – has been so overwhelming that the venue has been changed to a larger parking lot that can hold hundreds of vehicles.

The memorial tailgate now will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday in The Wings Flight Parking Lot, 3964 California Road, right behind Ralph Wilson Stadium, organizers said Thursday.

“With space for hundreds of cars, we feel The Wings Flight Parking Lot is the best way to accommodate any and all who want to celebrate Mr. Wilson’s legacy with us,” reads the statement on the group’s web site.

Parking will cost $10, and the Roaming Buffalo food truck will be on hand.

Proceeds from parking and 10 percent of profits from the food truck sales are to be donated to Hunter’s Hope Foundation, the organization founded by Jim and Jill Kelly.

“Please note that we are guests of The Wings Flight Parking Lot and are expected to behave as such,” the statement reads.

“We want everyone to have a great time, but please be respectful; failure to do so will result in your being asked to leave the event.”

The statement continues: “We ask that if you choose to bring alcohol, that you observe the law. Underage drinking will not be tolerated.”
