BATAVIA – Dick’s Sporting Goods will open its newest store today in the Towne Center, Town of Batavia, filling a vacancy in a block-long strip mall stretched along both sides of Veterans Memorial Drive.
The chain based in Corapolis, Pa., took over most of the 138,000-square-foot Lowe’s, one of the original anchors in the mall. Lowe’s closed two years ago.
Dick’s had $1 million in tax breaks to remodel the home improvement outlet at a estimated cost of $4.5 million. Construction began in the spring.
