BATAVIA – Four suspects were being held Thursday in the county jail after being arrested within minutes by police following two holdups and an aborted house burglary.
The latest to be collared was 21-year-old Edward Woods III of Batavia. In a court appearance Thursday he was charged with second degree robbery.
Police say he displayed what was thought to be a gun while holding up a convenience store near downtown. He was arrested within three minutes of a call.
An accused bank robber was caught Saturday when employees gave a description of the suspect and his vehicle. Again he was in custody within minutes. So were two would-be burglars who were seen entering a residence last week. They were both captured a few minutes after police arrived.
