Thousands of used books, CDs, cassettes, albums and VHS movies will be priced at just 50 cents as the Central Library on Lafayette Square holds its annual used-book sale Aug. 8 to 10.
Buyers who want the best selection can donate $5 to attend an “Early Bird Preview” from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 8, before the sale officially begins at 11. All items bought during the preview also will be 50 cents, and entry will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 8; 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 9; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 10. The sale will be held on the lower level of the library. Shoppers should use the Ellicott Street entrance, between Clinton Street and Broadway. Purchases can be made by cash, check or credit card.
