Residents are encouraged to drop off their electronic waste Saturday and Sunday at the Eggertsville Hose Company, 1880 Eggert Road, at the rear of the fire hall.

Residents will be responsible for unloading their electronic items and placing them in the designated area. Television sets, computers and other items can be brought to this location. In accordance with state law, electronic items can no longer be put out to the curb on garbage day.

• The Amherst Information Technology Advisory Committee will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Amherst Municipal Building, 5583 Main St.

• Susanne, an international exchange student from Norway who will study at Williamsville North High School, will arrive Saturday in Getzville.

She will live with the Jablonski family for one year. She is sponsored by Aspect Foundation, a non-profit organization that strives to bridge cultures through international youth exchange. Volunteer host families provide room, board, and a loving home environment for a semester or academic year, officials said.

• The Amherst Chamber of Commerce’s Business Resource Council last week announced its series of fall workshops, which includes:

Sept. 5: Customer Service & Client Relationship Management presented by Dr. Joel Hoomans of Roberts Wesleyan College.

Oct. 3: Bullet Proofing your Social Business: Crisis Management for Online Reputations presented by John Pitts and Frank Gullo of Superior Group.

Nov. 7: Branding: What is it Good for? presented by TJ Murrin, brand identity designer.

Dec. 5: Goal Planning & Execution presented by Anthony DeSimone of North Forest Office Space.

All workshops are held at Roberts Wesleyan College’s Buffalo Extension Campus, 6500 Sheridan Drive, Suite 106, Williamsville.
