An East Amherst man pleaded guilty Wednesday in Erie County Court to four felony charges of sexually abusing several children over an extended period of time, bringing to a conclusion an 18-month investigation by detectives in the Amherst Police Department’s Special Victims Unit.
Ken F. Lee, 50, of Dodger Place, which is in a subdivision off Transit Road, admitted to two felony counts of first-degree sexual abuse and two felony counts of second-degree course of sexual conduct in molesting girls ranging in age from 6 to 8, according to Amherst Detective Lt. Joseph A. LaCorte.
“We started with barely a rumor in this case, and the detectives worked intensely,” said LaCorte, explaining that there were significant challenges because of the ages of the victims, and parents having to come to terms with “the actions of Mr. Lee.”
Lee, who remains free on bail, also will be declared a sex offender and be required to register when he is sentenced Feb. 18 by Erie County Judge Kenneth E. Case.
LaCorte specifically credited Detectives Mark Pitirri and Cindy Herberger for their efforts in the investigation.
