An Amherst man today admitted holding up two drug stores in a little over two weeks, taking prescription drugs and money.

Kenneth Beebe, 32, of North Forest Road, pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree robbery in connection with holdups Feb. 18 at a Walgreens drug store at Transit and Greiner roads in Clarence and March 6 at a Rite Aid drug store on Sheridan Drive in Amherst.

Prosecutors said the value of the drugs and money he took totaled $1,637 in the Walgreens holdup and $867 in the Rite Aid robbery.

He faces up to seven years in prison when he is sentenced June 20 by Erie County Judge Michael F. Pietruszka.
