LOCKPORT – An Amherst man was sentenced Friday to a year behind bars for violating the terms of his probation on a guilty plea for selling cocaine in the City of Lockport twice in May 2011.

Rodriguez A. Bembo, 41, of North French Road, was sent to the Niagara County Jail by State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr.

“It’s just not working on probation,” Kloch said, although Bembo said he ought to get some credit for staying clean for two years. Kloch could have sent him to state prison for as long as nine years.
