WHEATFIELD – The third annual Niagara County Teachers Charity Softball Tournament to benefit Niagara Hospice’s Camp Hope will be held Sunday at Fairmount Park on Nash Road in Wheatfield.
About 110 teachers from all over the county will participate in the event, which starts with three games at 8:45 a.m. and is to continue through late afternoon. The rain date for the tournament is June 8.
Teams are entered from Niagara-Wheatfield, Starpoint, North Tonawanda, Newfane, Barker, Lewiston-Porter and the Orleans-Niagara Board of Cooperative Educational Services.
The last two tournaments have raised almost $4,000 to benefit Niagara Hospice.
The 14th annual Camp Hope, a free summer program for grieving children ages 7 to 13, is scheduled for June 27-29. Applications and information are available on the Niagara Hospice website or by calling 280-0777.
