NIAGARA FALLS – The Niagara County Youth Bureau is seeking applications by April 25 from sites interested in hosting its summer lunch program for school-age children.
The program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered by the State Education Department, provides lunches at sites including summer camps, youth programs, and other community organizations.
Legislator W. Keith McNall, chairman of the county’s Community Services Committee, said the meals are comparable to those served during the school year as part of the National School Lunch and Breakfast programs. The summer program lasts from June 30 to Aug. 29.
Youth Bureau Director Meghan Lutz said, “Site requests are individualized, including meals needed and program dates.”
Organizations interested in serving as meal sites should contact Lutz at 278-6872 to begin the application process.
