Parts of southern Niagara County will likely see more than 2 inches of rain this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service, which issued a flash flood warning for the southern part of the county through 3:45 p.m.

The expected heavy rainfall in places including North Tonawanda, Niagara Falls and Lockport may cause small streams and creeks to flood, along with highways and underpasses, low lying areas and areas near the banks of creeks, the Weather Service said in the warning issued just before 1 p.m.
