Alden

The Alden Substance Abuse Coalition is holding a meet and greet on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Alden Village Hall, 13336 Broadway, to speak with residents about drug abuse in the community.

The coalition is a group of parents and residents concerned with drug use in Alden who are providing information on treatment and prevention options, Village Mayor Mike Manicki said.

Several community members and law enforcement officials will speak, including Manicki, Judge Mark G. Farrell from the Amherst Drug Court and Erie County Deputy Sheriff Greg Kent.

Also this week:

• The Alden Town Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday for a work session at Alden Town Hall, 3311 Wende Road.

• The Town of Alden Planning Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Town Hall.

• The Village of Alden Board will meet on Thursday for a work session at 6:30 p.m. followed by a board meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Alden Village Municipal Building, 13336 Broadway.
