The fourth annual Walk for Alden will be held on Sunday, Oct. 6 at St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church, located at 13021 W. Main St. in the Village of Alden.
Registration will be held from noon to 1 p.m., with the walk beginning immediately after registration.
The walk, hosted by the Alden-Marilla Ecumenical Network, is open to “anyone who enjoys walking,” said Kathy Sutter, an administrative assistant with Hearts and Hands-Faith in Action.
“Everyone is welcome to come,” she said.
Pledge sheets are available by contacting Sutter at 406-8311 or Kathy Evans at the Alden Presbyterian Church at 937-6441.
For those who are interested in donating but not participating in the walk, dry and canned food items will be collected between noon and 2:30 p.m. for the Alden-Marilla Food Pantry at St. Aidan’s.
Several local organizations will benefit from the walk, Sutter said, which was the point.
“We did this because people like to keep donations local,” she said.
