Candidate for Town of Tonawanda board
Lines on ballot: Democrat, Conservative, Working Families
Number of years living in town: Over 50
Occupation/employer: Partner in real estate appraisal company; Emminger, Newton, Pigeon & Magyar, Inc. for over 17 years. Been in the appraisal business for over 30 years.
Top campaign platform agendas:
Continuing and increasing on what we have accomplished over the past 4‐8 years; promoting strong public safety as evidenced by the recent events on Fries Road (October 7) and Chief Palumbo stating recently our crime rate is down 14% this year; continuing to provide the highest quality of services in the area at a low cost to our property owners; and continuing our economic development along our commercial and industrial corridors.
Biggest issues facing the town:
Funding our water and sewer infrastructure work that we have taken on head on is most definitely one of the 3 biggest challenges the town faces. In addition to the water and sewer infrastructure work, as everyone is aware of, spiraling health care costs and pension costs have put a heavy financial burden all municipalities all across New York State; as it has on all of the personal lives of its residents. We (the Town of Tonawanda) are no different. The challenge the town faces on this issue is to arrive at a fair and reasonable contracts in the future that address these concerns and are fair to all parties.
