Jurors shouldn’t profit from their public duty

Just as criminals can’t profit from their crime, I truly believe no juror should be allowed to do so.

Given the atmosphere of today’s profit-driven society, it is not impossible to believe a juror could intentionally vote a certain way to steer an outcome. It’s a nice thought to believe that no one would do such a thing, but after seeing and hearing what goes on daily – between radio, television and YouTube – it’s not much of a stretch.

We all know what to say to get off a jury. We certainly would know what to say to get on one! No sooner is a case closed than some juror is writing a book. I think it’s time for some new laws to be passed.
