Southwest cuts a flight on Buffalo-Vegas route
Southwest Airlines has dropped one of two daily nonstop flights from its Buffalo to Las Vegas service, due to decreased demand. A lower number of travelers meant the airline could meet demand with just one daily flight, according to a Southwest Airlines spokeswoman.
Service to Baltimore was also cut by one, bringing it to six flights from seven.
The airline also added a second daily flight to Tampa Bay, Fla., in response to what the spokeswoman said was standard, seasonal fluctuation.
Meanwhile, Southwest pilots approved a new five-year labor contract that the union president said has smaller pay raises than his members wanted.
The union said Monday that the vote for ratification was about 87 percent, with about 93 percent of Southwest’s 5,900 pilots casting a ballot.
