The law firm Burden, Gulisano and Hickey named Jennifer L. Rodgers an associate. Formerly of Damon and Morey, Rodgers obtained her J. D. from the Ohio Northern University College of Law and her bachelor’s degree from Fredonia State College.

Hilbert College named Dennis Black chairman and Phillip T. Catanese vice chairman of its board of trustees. Black is vice president for student affairs at the University at Buffalo. A Hilbert trustee since 2001, Black chairs the board’s Executive Committee and previously chaired the presidential search and Ad Hoc Building Committees. He studied political science and history at UB, where he also received a law degree.
Catanese is vice president of retail stores at The Buffalo News. He joined the board in 2002 and is serving his third term as vice-chairman. Catanese is also vice-chair of the board’s Executive Committee and formerly chaired the Trustee Committee. He earned an associate’s degree in business from Bryant & Stratton.
Also, the board appointed Deborah DiMatteo secretary. DiMatteo is a vice president at M&T Bank with nearly 30 years experience in the banking industry. She joined the board in 2006 and is serving her third term as secretary. Currently serving as vice chairwoman of the Academic Affairs Committee, DiMatteo previously chaired the Student Affairs Committee. She received a master’s degree in business administration from Canisius College and a bachelor’s degree, also in business administration, from Valparaiso University.
