Mount St. Mary’s Hospital and Health Center in Lewiston named registered nurses William Paul a full-time nursing supervisor and Sabrina Kolometz part-time nursing supervisor. Paul previously served as the manager of the hospital’s fifth floor Telemetry Unit. He is also a clinical instructor at Niagara County Community College. Kolometz previously served as the director of nursing at the Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence.

The Grand Island Chamber of Commerce and Town Board members recently celebrated the opening of two new businesses: GI—Connections, a computer sales and service business owned by Ron Stipp and Tom Geblein, and The Cutting Room Hair Salon, owned by Laurie Masters. Both business are located at 1741 Baseline Road. Also, the Chamber welcomed Sarah Contrino, sales and marketing representative for Ryan Homes, with a ribbon-cutting event to mark the completion of the first stage of the company’s Waterford Park subdivision located off East River Road.

Twenty-six partners with the Buffalo office of Phillips Lytle were named by New York State Super Lawyers magazine, Upstate Edition, as being among the top attorneys in New York State for 2009. Thirty-four attorneys across the firm’s Buffalo, Jamestown, Rochester and Albany offices were recognized this year by Super Lawyers magazine.

Customers and associates of The Bon-Ton Stores donated approximately 5.2 million gently used clothing and home textile items during its semi-annual Goodwill Sale event, held Sept. 16 through 30. The Bon- Ton Stores, comprising Bon-Ton, Bergner’s, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, Herberger’s, Younkers and Parisian stores, received donations at its 279 stores. Goodwill will sell the donations in the communities where they were collected, and the revenues, expected to generate $12 million to $15 million, will go to support job training to assist individuals in achieving economic stability.
