Try-It Distributing Co. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Eugene P. Vukelic received the 2009 National Beer Wholesalers Association Life Service Award. The award is the NBWA’s highest honor and is given to beer distributors who have dedicated a lifetime of service to the industry, community and fellow distributors.

Damon Morey senior partners Thomas J. Drury and William F. Savino were named among the top 50 attorneys who received the highest point totals in the 2009 New York Super Lawyers Upstate Edition.

Mentholatum Co., a leading over-the- counter health care products company based in Orchard Park, announced its sponsorship of 11-time Ironman triathlon winner Belinda Granger for its ROHTO Eye Drop line. Granger will be the face of the eye drops. Granger will wear the ROHTO logo on her jersey as she competes in triathlons through 2011. Granger has won three Ironman Koreas, two Ironman Malaysias and Ironman Canadas, and single triumphs at Ironman China, Ironman Lake Placid, Quelle Challenge Roth and the Honu Ironman 70.3 in Hawaii.

The Thai House restaurant, specializing in authentic Thai cuisine, recently celebrated its grand opening at 2800 Grand Island Blvd. The restaurant, owned by Tim and Mickey Suphankomut, is open Monday through Saturday from 11:30 a. m. to 9:30 p. m.

The Preservation League of New York State awarded a $6,000 grant to the Chautauqua Home Rehabilitation& Improvement Corp. to be used toward a cultural resources survey of the Village of Sherman. CHRIC, one of 235 organizations of the national NeighborWorks network, is assisting Sherman with its downtown rehabilitation projects. The survey will provide documentation on the village’s early 19th to mid- 20 century commercial blocks, homes, churches and the Yorker Museum complex. Clinton Brown Company Architecture of Buffalo will complete the project.
