Cohen&Lombardo partner Stuart Shapiro was recently a guest speaker at the two-day Niagara University Technology Workshop. He addressed university faculty and staff as well as teachers from the Niagara Falls School District on “The Legal Implications of Technology.” The lecture covered issues of copyright, disclosure of student records, defamation and privacy for professors working with Internet tool and teaching programs.

Phillips Lytle paralegal Donna L. Muscarella was appointed to the board of trustees at Elmwood Franklin School for a three-year term. She will serve on the board’s Development and Marketing Committee.

Fidelis Care named Nikia Glapa marketing representative, serving Genesee County from the company’s Amherst office. Glapa was a Child Protective Services caseworker for Wake County, N. C., and holds a bachelor’s degree from Buffalo State College and a master’s degree from Buffalo State College/North Carolina State University.

Foit-Albert Associates, Architecture, Engineering, and Surveying, recently completed Trinity Hall at Hilbert College. The $8 million, three-story residence hall provides 155 beds and features a variety of residential units, ample lounge areas, as well as a recreation room, game room, computer lounge, conference space, laundry rooms on each floor and mail room. The building also offers a full apartment for the residence director, as well as a guest room for visiting lecturers and dignitaries to the college. The official grand opening ceremony was held at Hilbert College on Aug. 18.

ElderWood Health Care at Wedgewood, ElderWood Village at Glenwood, ElderWood Village at Maplewood, ElderWood Village at Rosewood, ElderWood Village at Westwood and Northgate Health Care Facility earned National Quality Awards from the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living in recognition of their extraordinary commitment to making quality health care a number one priority. The facilities will be presented their award during the association’s 60th annual Convention and Exposition Oct. 4-7 in Chicago.
