Synacor, a Buffalo builder of Internet tools and portals, recently named William Lindquist vice president of Marketing. Lindquist will plan and direct the marketing of the company’s consumer online products and services in cooperation with the company’s cable and telecommunication customers. Previously Lindquist was vice president of national directory at Frontier Communications.

Independent Health, an Amherstbased health plan provider, named Ted Butler national sales director, ancillary business. Previously national sales director, pharmacy benefit dimensions, Butler has more than 20 years of experience in employee benefits. He attended Empire State College.

Merchants Insurance Group appointed Patty Krzeminski, a CPA, assistant vice president of finance at the corporate office in Buffalo. Krzeminski most recently served as vice president/business manager at a local television station. In addition, she has seven years of financial services industry experience in the audit department of a large accounting firm in Buffalo. A graduate of the University at Buffalo, she earned a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Merchants Insurance Group offers personal and commercial insurance.

Shandraw has worked in the administrative/accounting field for more than 15 years.
