County gets big home sales

Story tools:

At a time when the real estate industry is reeling at the national level, Erie County is continuing to see some of its biggest-ever home deals.

So far this week, a home at S5760 Old Lake Shore Road in the Town of Hamburg sold for $1.79 million, the third-highest ever price tag for a local single family residence. And a house at 37 Middlesex Road in Buffalo changed hands for $1.4 million.

In November, an out-of-towm buyer acquired a pair of Town of Hamburg estates for $3 million and $3.3 million, respectively, breaking, and re-breaking the previous all-time high home sales benchmark of $1.4 million for Erie and Niagara Counties.

There are currently a dozen homes posted on the multiple listing services with asking prices ranging from just over $1 million, up to $1.8 million.
