The American Cancer Society named Dr. Thomas Foels of Williamsville to its Eastern Division board of directors. Dr. Foels, who serves as director of Practice Management at Independent Health, will oversee the organization’s mission in New York and New Jersey.

Five Star Bank appointed Teresa Eddy Attica branch manager and assistant vice president. With the bank since 1997, Eddy served as assistant branch manager at the Attica location for the past three years.

Picone Construction Corp. recently completed the youth center renovation project, Ground Zero, for Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church and was awarded the general construction contract for the renovation of the church’s administrative and preschool office area. The project is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

Steven Braunstein, Fred Archer, Elizabeth May and Amy Dawli and staff provides family, cosmetic and specialty dentistry. The dental practice has 13 offices in the Buffalo area as well as two locations in Rochester.

Collignon/Jarosz Photography, located at 463 Amherst St., in association with The Martin Group and Tuxedo Junction recently completed all still location and studio photography for the Tuxedo Junction 2009 wholesale and retail catalogs. All photography locations were in Buffalo and North Tonawanda.

The University at Buffalo was awarded $50,000 by the Invitrogen Foundation of Carlsbad, Calif., to support marketing and outreach efforts for UB’s iSci: Career Pathways in the Life Sciences program. The iSci program, created in 2007, increases awareness oflocal life sciences job opportunities in Western New York and createsnew training programs at UB’s Educational Opportunity Center and- Millard Fillmore College to prepare individuals for careers in locallife science companies and institutions.
