Flanigen Eye Care, an Amherst ophthalmology practice in Amherst, was recently opened at 1835 Maple Road by Dr. Diane T. Flanigen, a board certified ophthalmologist. Dr. Flanigen earned her medical degree at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Science and completed an internal medicine internship at Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital and specialty training in ophthalmology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. She has practiced in Western New York for more than 15 years.

Dopkins and Company, certified public accountants and consultants, promoted Gregory

J. Urban to director and Marlene M. Gorski, Pamela A. Geib and Jill E. Colombo to manager. Urban joined the agency in 2003 after working at a Big 4 tax and accounting agency. He earned a bachelor’s in accounting and master’s degree in taxation from Canisius College. Gorski joined the firm in 1988 after graduating from Canisius College and serving two years with another public accounting agency. Geib, a University at Buffalo graduate, joined the agency in 1995. Colombo, who joined the agency 2000 after serving two years at a local agency, graduated from Geneseo State College with a bachelor’s in accounting.

First Niagara named James A. Rahill vice president, relationship manager. Rahill joined the bank in April as a commercial loan relationship manager and has more than 25 years of banking experience. He earned a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Canisius College and graduated from the University at Buffalo Advanced Commercial Lending and Analysis Program.

Tops Friendly Markets promoted Jim Di-Martino to senior manager of regulatory and environmental services from manger. DiMartino, who has been with the company for 28 years, received food science and technology certification from Buffalo State College, and also received an achievement honor from Cornell University food industry studies.
