Bills fans strive to keep team local
A pair of avid Buffalo Bills fans have launched a new company, branded merchandise and interactive Web site to spearhead efforts to keep the team in Buffalo permanently.
BillsInBuffalo4Ever said Thursday that its Web site, www.billsinbuffalo4ev e r . c o m , is now operational, and will allow fans to sign an online petition and monitor news and initiatives related to the Bills’ long-term future. It will also include “streaming video” testimonials from former players, elected officials and other local celebrities, as well as offer the merchandise with the company’s brand.
“We believe a proactive, grassroots effort by all stakeholders, including fans, can only increase the chances of making Western New York the permanent home [of] the Buffalo Bills,” said Robert A. Schwartz, who co-founded the Amherst-based company with Alex T. DiNunzio.
The company plans to hold a launch party Sept. 4 from 7 p. m. to 9 p. m. at Loughrans Restaurant, on Main Street near Harlem Road in Snyder. It will also hold a “Stakeholders Forum” and deliver hard copies of the online petition to National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell and other decision- makers.
