The Bank of Castile named Dr. Steve Stoddard, a partner in the Perry Veterinary Clinic, to its board of directors. Dr. Stoddard is a Cornell University graduate who has been associated with the clinic for 23 years. The Bank of Castile is a community bank with 15 offices in the five-county Western New York region.

Synacor, a Buffalo Internet tools and portals builder, named Andrew Worral product manager, desktop application and David Benesch manager of Application Development. Worral, a University at Buffalo computer engineering graduate, previously was chief technology officer for Foupons.com. Benesch most recently was team leader, assistant vice president at M&T Bank. He holds a bachelor’s in computer science and master’s in information systems and e-Business, finance from UB. Also, the company appointed Andrew Malburg network engineer and shifted Phil Seibel to director of systems architecture. Previously, Malburg was network project manager with Delaware North Cos.

Synergy Fitness and Synergy Bariatrics physician assistant Marc McCabe introduced Bariatric Fusion, a complete vitamin and mineral supplement that provides nutrients for gastric bypass patients, at the 25th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery in Washington, D. C. The firm is in Williamnsville and McCabe is a graduate of D’Youville College.

The New York State Health Facilities Association presented Becky Greene, a certified nursing assistant at ElderWood Health Care at Crestwood in Niagara Falls, with the 2008 Ruth E. Stafford LPN Scholarship during the association’s annual convention in Bolton Landing. Also, the association presented Jennifer Carroll, a licensed practical nurse at De- Graff Skilled Nursing Facility in North Tonawanda, with the the 2008 James D. Durante RN Scholarship.

The state Office of General Services awarded contracts for construction, electrical, heating and ventilation, plumbing and elevator contracts to rehabilitate elevators at the Gowanda Correctional Facility Building No. 86 in Gowanda to: construction, Steve General Contractor of Caledonia, $130,200; electrical, O’Connell Electric Co. of Victor, $252,000; heating and ventilation, John W. Hart Hotels recently opened its 11th hotel in New York, the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel at 16 North Franklin St., Watkins Glen. The hotel is a four story $14 million project with 104 guest rooms and suites, 4,200 square feet of banquet and conference space with an indoor pool and fitness center. The project is a joint venture between Krog Corp. and Hart Hotels. Hart Hotels, located in Buffalo, owns and operates five hotels in the Buffalo Niagara region, with two hotels in central New York, and a boutique hotel in Portland, Maine, a resort hotel located in Park City, Utah and a hotel in South Burlington, Vt.

VoIP Supply, a provider of Voice over IP hardware, and sister company IP Camera Supply, an leading IP Surveillance solution provider, announced a partnership with Internet marketing agency, Pepperjam, of Wilkes-Barre, Penn. to leverage Pepperjam’s affiliate marketing network. Both companies are divisions of Sayers Technology Holdings. The partnership with Pepperjam will allow the companies to take their affiliate program mainstream, and offer it to a wider range of people.

Contributing

The Buffalo and Erie County Workforce Development Consortium, in partnership with the State University of New York’s Educational Opportunity Center, was awarded $32,000 by the William G. McGowan Charitable Fund. The fund, named for William McGowan, founder of MCI Communications, funds programs to assist the young in achieving their potential through education and training programs that provide skills for future employment. The funding will provide intensive job readiness training to 40 Erie County high school students and prepare them to take the “National Work Readiness Credential” exam. Classes for this program will be held at the Erie Community College Employment and Training One-Stop Service Center, located at 3176 Abbott Road, Orchard Park 14127.
