The law firm of Phillips Lytle named Holly A. Beecher, Craig A. Leslie, Angela Zwirecki Miller and Thomas J. Sheehan partners in the Buffalo office. Beecher, a graduate of Michigan State University, earned J. D. and master’s degrees from the University at Buffalo. Leslie, a State University College at Plattsburgh graduate, also received his J. D. from the U. B. Law School. Miller earned J. D., M. B. A. and bachelor’s degrees from U. B. Sheehan, a Canisius College graduate, earned his J. D. from U. B.

Buffalo Place Inc., a not-for-profit corporation founded to manage the downtown core surrounding the city’s pedestrian mall, elected the following to its board of directors for a two-year term: Patrick Hotung, general manager, Main Place Liberty Group; Carl P. Paladino, president, Ellicott Development Co.; David L. Sweet, president, Main Seneca Corp. and Howard A. Zemsky, managing partner, Taurus Capitol Partners.

Synacor, a Buffalo Internet tools and portals builder, appointed Michelle Webb corporate counsel. Webb previously was senior attorney at Bill Me Later. A Loyola graduate, she obtained her J. D. from Catholic University, Columbus School of Law. The company also appointed Mark Trinca project manager and Jonathan Hoyler development trainee. Previously, Trinca was senior business systems analyst at Akamai Technologies. Hoyler previously was a tutor at Canisius College, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in bioinformatics.

Gaymar Industries President and Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Thomas Stewart was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the World Union of Wound Healing Societies at the Third Congress of the the Scientific Committee of Congress 2008. This honor is presented to individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancement of wound management through research, publishing, education, advocacy and hands-on patient care. Dr. Stewart has devoted 25 years in the research of wound care and the development of solutions that provide pressure relief.
