J.P. Fitzgerald’s is an Irish pub and restaurant that opened in 1990. It’s a family business that employs 85 people who also feel like they are part of that family.
“We are like a family,” a employee commented on the survey. “So many of us have been here for years. We have little turnover for a restaurant, so you really get to know your fellow employees, and that makes coming to work so much nicer. I have met so many wonderful people, not just employees but customers as well.”
Along with the family atmosphere and camaraderie with co-workers, employees also appreciate the flexibility in scheduling.
“It allows me to balance school, a second job and my family life,” another worker wrote. “All the people at J.P.’s are very nice and encouraging.”
The company is also a fast-growing and community-minded establishment. The restaurant at 4236 Clark St., Hamburg, has undergone multiple expansions. For the past three years, the restaurant has planned an all-inclusive trip to Ireland and has invited customers to come along. Also, each year, it provides transportation for customers to attend the St. Patrick’s Day Parade downtown.
J.P. Fitzgerald has also established a nonprofit corporation, J.P.’s Foundation, through which it will raise money for various causes.
