Brazilian steakhouse Texas de Brazil opened at Walden Galleria today in the former Hyde Park Steakhouse.

The restaurant is a Brazilian churrascaria: waiters travel throughout the dining rooms from table to table with skewers of beef, lamb, pork, chicken and Brazilian sausage. Patrons can choose as many different kinds (and as many helpings) as they please, with waiters cutting and serving portions tableside. Meats are prepared over an open flame.

There is also an extensive salad bar with up to 60 different kinds of salads and sides, such as grilled Portobello mushrooms, sushi and artisan breads. Desserts are served a la carte, and include Brazilian cheesecake, flan and crème brulee.

The restaurant is open for dinner only. Prices are $44.99 for a full dinner, which includes the meats and salad bar, and $24.99 for a light dinner, which includes just the salad bar. Children ages 6 to 12 are half price, children ages 3 to 5 are $5, children age 2 and younger are free.

The 7,500-square-foot dining room seats 230.

The Texas-based chain has 43 locations in 16 states as well as Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, Mexico, South Korea and Aruba. The restaurant has New York locations in Manhattan, Syracuse and Yonkers.
