RentCheck prevailed over 11 teams to win first place in Startup Weekend Buffalo over the weekend at the University at Buffalo.
The 54-hour competition encourages entrepreneurs to collaborate on ideas that are pitched to a panel of judges, to help launch start-up ventures. RentCheck will receive a package of Web-related services provided by 360 PSG.
CultureBond took second, pitching a system for companies to adopt co-worker peer evaluations and to make companywide cultural enhancements. ATINGA Project was third, for its idea of offering sandals made by third-world laborers that are environmentally sustainable and provide sustainable income. The second- and third-place teams will also receive a package of business services.
This was the third edition of Startup Weekend Buffalo. About 80 people participated in the three-day event.
