PHYMEDCO, a Tonawanda firm specializing in medical billing and practice management services, named Mark J. Archer partner and CFO. Archer, previously the senior vice president of Discover Financial Services and chief risk officer for GE Money in Asia, has an MBA from Xavier University. Also, the firm appointed Joseph McEachon vice president of sales and marketing and James Archer vice president of operations. A Buffalo State College graduate, McEachon previously worked for Saint-Gobain Corp. and the Wolf Group ad agency. Most recently with GE Capital, James Archer is a graduate of Sacred Heart University.

Catholic Health Home Care has named Estelle Brickner vice president of clinical services. Brickner will have direct oversight for all clinical services in Catholic Health’s Home Care Division, including program development, quality improvement and staffing. Brickner served as director of Operations for WILLCARE, a home care agency located in Buffalo. She is vice president of the WNY Chapter of the New York State Association of Health Providers, serves on the membership committee of the WNY Network on Aging and is a member of the board of directors of the WNY Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Independent Health has promoted Janet Stoeckl to director, physician clinical services. Stoeckl will provide leadership in developing, monitoring and reporting of specialty, primary and clinical programs. A licensed registered nurse, Stoeckl joined Independent Health in 1996 after working as a staff nurse at Sisters Hospital. Stoeckl received her nursing degree from Millard Fillmore Hospital School of Professional Nursing and has completed course work in community health at Empire State College.

Flynn Battaglia Architects, a Buffalo-based architectural firm, promoted Mark J. Wendel to associate principal. With the firm for 13 years, Wendel previously served as project manager. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and earned Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification in 2007.
